Japanese Naval Headquarters Visitor Center

1999 Parks, Greenery & Landscape

Our plan proposed a memorial facility that conveys the horrors of war to the present day and hopes for peace into the future. To preserve the memory of the landscape and leverage the excellent views overlooking the city, the facility was designed to blend into the terrain as much as possible, minimizing its protrusion.

By utilizing the site’s elevation difference, the first floor is embedded in the ground, integrating with the existing underground headquarters.
