Kadena Air Base and Surrounding Area Community Development Concept Formulation Project
2020 Urban & Regional Development
In the areas surrounding Kadena Air Base, frequent aircraft takeoffs and landings cause noise problems, burdening the community. This makes it difficult to plan and develop public facilities and other infrastructure within the limited downtown area, posing challenges for community development.
Among these issues, the renovation of the Kadena Baseball Stadium and Yara Castle Ruins Park, located near Kadena Air Base, has become urgent due to aging facilities and other problems.
In this project, we organized the issues related to Kadena Baseball Stadium and Yara Castle Ruins Park, developed specific plans for each, and assessed approximate project costs to formulate plans for their utilization and operation.
For Kadena Baseball Stadium, we established the direction for necessary facilities, including various rooms, the field, turf, safety nets, and an electronic scoreboard.
For Yara Castle Ruins Park, we aimed to create a safe and secure play area for children, determining the direction for park facilities such as pathways, playground equipment, open spaces, landscaping, and restrooms.
