Koza Shinkin Bank Head Office
2015 Government Buildings & Offices
This was a reconstruction project for the head office and headquarters building of a credit union based in Okinawa City. Marking its 60th anniversary, the facility was planned for the upcoming centennial milestone.
Functionally, the facility was designed to be disaster-resistant and safe, based on business continuity planning (BCP). It features a resilient structure and infrastructure, including seismic isolation, dual power lines, emergency power generation equipment, and disaster-resistant restrooms. Additionally, it incorporates environmentally friendly features, such as reduced environmental impact, high-efficiency equipment, and renewable energy systems.
For the community, the plan included opening some facilities to the public, providing temporary shelters during disasters, and setting up local craft exhibition rooms. These measures aimed to support and connect with the community more than ever.
Situated along National Route 330, the project also aimed to contribute to the creation of a new urban landscape for Koza and establish itself as a landmark in the city.
