New Southern Okinawa Waterworks Union Office Building

2009 Government Buildings & Offices

This is a new office building that was rebuilt due to the relocation of the facility as part of Yaese township’s road improvement project.

The design was themed around two main pillars, a user-friendly facility for everyone and an environmentally conscious facility.

As a user-friendly facility, a spacious atrium entrance hall was created to serve as a communication space with local residents. The use of curtain wall sashes provide a bright and open space.

In terms of environmental considerations, the facility utilizes rainwater for toilet flushing and irrigation, employs rooftop greenery and a double-layered façade to reduce heat load, and incorporates LED lighting and an ice storage air conditioning system to reduce electricity consumption.
