Preserving the Memory of Our Land: Cultural Bridge (Stepping Stone)

The Ryukyu Shimpo Headquarters Building is a multifunctional facility that inherits the memory of the land where the former Ryukyu Shimpo Hall once stood. Themed as the “Bridge of Culture (Vertical Connection),” it features an integrated public open space and entrance hall on the first floor, a gallery on the second floor, and a hall on the third floor, creating a hub for the exchange of people, culture, and information. The hall, with a capacity of 606 people, has retractable seating and a protruding stage, allowing it to accommodate a variety of events. The office floors are designed as open spaces without central columns, and the ninth floor includes a rooftop garden that serves as a relaxation area for employees. The building is located at an intersection with a clear view of Kokusai Street, and it features a public open space where people can gather, a facade reminiscent of a sailing ship, and lighting that illuminates the building at night, establishing it as a new landmark.
